Job Summary

Deliver optimum service to customers in support of company goals.  Using strong electrical and/or mechanical knowledge, provide technical support, troubleshooting, and installation to domestic and international customers.  Upsell products as appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and use company products and software.
  • Provide customer support working directly with them to resolve technical problems by phone, email and in person.
  • Contact customers and potential customers for upselling and introductions as appropriate.
  • Provide quotes to customers for service and/or parts as needed.
  • Travel to domestic and international customer sites, up to 50% of the time, to provide service and training.
  • Investigate and prepare for on-site calls to ensure an efficient and effective service call.
  • Provide commissioning and training at customer locations for all company products. Ensure commissioning is done to customer and Power Test's mutual needs and expectations.
  • Properly document customer interaction, service visits and expense reports.
  • Work with other departments to ensure customer service orders are processed and shipped timely.
  • Provide support to sales staff as they work with customers to resolve problems.
  • Present high standard of professional image at all times when interacting with customer.
  • Demonstrate company values.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Diploma plus 3 years hands-on technical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with mechanical or electrical and computer systems.
  • Knowledge of and passion for engines and vehicle applications. Additionally, knowledge of AC and DC Electrical systems, AC drives and Data Acquisition and control systems.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Familiar with electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills related to them.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
  • With minimum direction, possess the ability to think under pressure and accurately communicate solutions.
  • Solid judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Detail oriented and self-directed.
  • PC Proficiency, including MS Office and the ability to learn and adapt to new software systems.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Holds a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international customer sites is required (average 50%).
